April 2008
The first week we were in Utah. The next two weeks were just regular weeks. The third week my mom came to visit. The girls don’t like when Grandma visits during the school year because they would rather be playing than going to school and doing homework. The last few days of the month we spent in Rome. (Grandma was babysitting.) Rome is an amazing city. I was in awe at the ancient ruins strewn throughout. We had almost perfect weather, figured out the bus system pretty well, and were able to see almost everything on our list (our plane left 4 hours late from JFK which essentially took 4 hours away from our sightseeing). We walked until our feet hurt (as we usually do on our European trips). As for the food, we weren’t impressed. Perhaps we didn’t pick the right places to eat. Although, the gelato was yummy.
