M's braces, step 2.

Her bottom teeth are really hurting. The top still doesn't have a wire, don't really understand why. They took out the top spacers, put bands around the top back teeth, then put the spacers back in. I don't really get that either.
As you can tell, S has a different orthodontist. She's sad she doesn't get to have cool colors on her teeth.
S had her orthodontist appointment this morning. She lost the teeth next to her top front teeth way back in September of 2007 (nearly 3 years ago). (So cute! I couldn't resist putting this picture in.)

We have been waiting ever since for the new teeth to come in. The orthodontist put springs on her front wire 8 months ago and then later added clips to allow the maximum amount of space for the new teeth to come in, but still the teeth were stubborn. Her front teeth turned into buck teeth because there was just no where else for them to move. She almost had to get laser tissue removal of the gums to expose the tooth so they could put a bracket on it, but just in time the tooth broke through. And after all that.....the tooth came in too high and crooked. Good grief.
Before...

After...
She is in quite a bit of pain now that they are trying to pull down the stubborn teeth.
